U2 will reportedly release their new album in May.
The Irish group have been recording their 13th album – which has the working title Songs of Ascent – with producer and musician Danger Mouse and although they have not confirmed a release date, the German version of retailer Amazon, Amazon.de, has listed a new release from the group for May 27.
U2′s spokesperson told NME: “As has been widely reported, U2 are in the studio working on a new record but no release date has been set.”
The band’s manager, Paul McGuiness, has previously said he thinks the band’s next album – the follow up to 2009′s No Line on the Horizon will be out in “early 2011, before the next leg of the American tour, which starts in May.”
Songs of Ascent is not the only album the group are currently working on.
Lead singer Bono has previously revealed the band are making a “club” record with dance/pop producers including will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga’s producer RedOne and French DJ and producer David Guetta.
Bono has said the group has “a pile of songs” for the club album and, inspired by remixes produced for the band around the time of their albums Achtung Baby, Zooropa and Pop.
He said: “U2′s remixes in the 1990s were a real treasure. So we wanted to make a club sounding record.”
