A few words from the creator Mr. Acrobat
It all started for me in the year ………… 1984 ……….. U2 released their new single from the Unforgettable Fire Album called Pride.
I never heard a rockband play such intens and driven music. Everytime the local radiostation played Pride the world around me stopped !
From that moment on U2 ‘grabbed’ me and never let go again ………… I had fallen in love with their passioned music.
A few weeks later I went to the local recordshop to buy their latest album ‘the Unforgettable Fire’. In those days albums were made of vinyl records.
After listening to this album on my recordplayer, for hours and hours, my love for their music even got bigger and bigger .. and bigger.
And then finally ………. june 1987, I attended my first U2 concert. Mungerdorfer Stadium in Cologne …… blown away in a football stadium …… one big party …… unbelievable.
After this great concert I started to collect bootlegs, first on tape (music cassette), vinyl record and later on cd until I ‘discovered’ U2-forums on the internet.
What great places these forums are to chat, read, think about U2 and share concert recordings with many other U2 fans.
The main reason for me to collect U2 bootlegs is to ‘relive’ the concerts I attended myself and trying to taste a little of the atmosphere of many other concerts.
After many years my collection has grown to such a number of concerts that I decided to write U2 Bootbase © in order to ‘get my boots organized’.
