U2 are set to take part in A Night For Christy concert next week with a live link-up from their studio in New York.
The fellow Dublin north-side band will perform This Is during the gig which takes place in Dublin’s Olympia on June 21st and is being streamed live to 100 venues worldwide.
Paul Brady, Shane MacGowan, Christy’s daughter Kiera Dignam, and Mary Black are among the many artists already announced for the event which is being held as a tribute to Aslan frontman Christy Dignam who is currently recuperating after treatment for cancer.
The one-off event will also feature performances from Bressie, Danny O’Reilly (The Coronas), Horslips, Ryan Sheridan, Don Mescall, Tom Dunne (Something Happens), Jerry Fish, Steve Wall (The Stunning), Gavin Friday, Mark Feehily, and Paul Walsh of Royseven.
All artists have handpicked their favourite song from the Aslan setlist and will step into Christy’s shoes (or perform barefoot!) for one night only.
Performances on the night will include fan favourites Crazy World, Too Late For Hallelujah, This Is, Chains, This Time, Gotta Make It, Down on Me, and Catch Your Fall.
