U2′s photo exhibition in London

From 14th April Proud Galleries in Camden, London, is putting on a photographic exhibition called U2: The Early Years. This is a never-before-seen show focusing on the band from their interception up until the filming of Rattle & Hum. The exhibition is shot by award-winning photographer Colm Henry, who met the band whilst he was working on Ireland’s Hot Press magazine and went on to win the their trust and photograph them regularly in the subsequent years. This is the first time in the world this show will be seen so it is going to be of great interest to U2 fans.

Who is Colm Henry?

Colm Henry’s photographic career began in the late 1970s. Focusing on the growing Irish music scene, Henry worked extensively with award-winning publication Hot Press and enjoyed over 10 years as principle photographer to Rock band U2. Today Colm remains based in Ireland and continues to photograph Irish musicians, dancers creative forces. His distinctive style has led him to be awarded the “Best of Irish” award in Irish Editorial Photography.
