Irish rock legends U2 have been elevated to fifth place in a ‘music millionaires’ rich list this year, with their shared fortune of €619m (£506m) up some €71m (£58m) from last year.
The Dublin hit-makers coffers put them higher up the scale than Simon Cowell, Elton John and the Beckhams.
They are way ahead of Michael Flatley whose fortune has dropped €27m (£22m) this year to €231m (£189m), putting him ninth in the list of the top earning performers in the UK and Ireland.
Donegal born singer Enya is worth €104m (£85m) this year while Belfast’s Van Morrison comes 49th on the list with his €60m (£49m) fortune staying the same as last year.
