This past Sunday watching the NFL playoffs my head snapped around during a commercial break when I could hear the first few notes of the epic version of "Bad " from "Wide Awake In Amercia"coming out of my television. Much to my astonishment it was for a FOX network promo of the upcoming Daytona 500 road race. I loved hearing our heroes' music but can anyone tell me what , if any, connection there may be? Was that the race event that years earlier took Dale Earnhardt (sorry, I don't follow NASCAR much)?? It was kind of bittersweet to hear my favorite song but mixed with auto racing it just seemed , well, bizarre.

I think they were just using the music and the "not fade away" bit. It is haunting even if nothing else from the song fits.
